Science Baby Names

I"m not on twitter, but came across an IFL Science editor's blog article about a twitter thread for science-nerd baby names.   I particularly enjoyed the chicken names mentioned.

The article is titled  "Scientists are sharing the extermely nerdy names they'e given their kids and it's wonderful"

Captcha knows how much everyone hates it and retaliates. I erased the other two posts.

I have a friend who named her daughter Tesla Nikola after the scientist/inventor and known others called Franklin, Edison and Dalton

I have a friend who named her baby Jemison (nn Jemma) after Mae Jemison, the first African-American woman in space.

We named our planes with physicist's names.

Our first is a Lake Amphibian that is an awkward plane that is also very heavy. In one of the books specifically about the plane, it said something to the effect of: When the engine is off, the plane's glide slope is that of a dead cat.

Boom! Schrodinger was born.

Now we have a twin engine Seneca that we were arguing about what we should name it. I thought Pavlov could work since this plane has far more "bells and whistles" than the other and DH is constantly drooling over it. He didn't like that because it was a behavioral scientist. He finally came across a name yesterday that I had previously suggested but he had dismissed. Thus, it is now dubbed Godel. Two universes, it travels more than twice the speed of the other which makes it feel like time travel to us. ;-)

My husband and I (both Chemistry majors) had a secret desire to name a boy Linus (Pauling), but at the end of the day we didn't have the guts.  I still hope for a pet with that name.

Aww, that's too bad, because I think Linus perfectly fits in with the current crop of old-man chic names I see locally (Walter, Winston, etc)... but I also think it'll be a great pet name!

Thanks for the original article post, NAGA. It was worth triple-posting because it was that charming!

Is there a link to this article somewhere and I'm just not seeing it?
