Third Boy Naming Conundrum

As we stare down the barrel of our third son, my husband and I find it progressively more difficult to name our boys. Our first son's name was predetermined to be Jack (family name) and it suits him perfectly! His middle name is Henry which I also love (and wish I had saved for a later child). Fast forward three years to baby boy #2. Hubby and I could agree on NOTHING! I had my heart set on calling him Drew and hubby hated it so we compromised on Andrew which quickly became another favorite. Obviously I prefer traditional, classic names with the most common spellings. Our last name starts with a J, is one syllable and extremely common. This time around I'd love to use my maiden name, Hartley, and call the baby Hart. Hubby has vetoed that suggestion repeatedly. His picks are Harrison (my objection is trendiness, lack of significance, and the possibility he'd be called Harry), Luke (lots of friends recently naming baby Luke),  Liam, and George. Family names we wouldn't be opposed to using include Charles and Michael. Any suggestions, ideas, etc. Are greatly appreciated!

Jack and Henry are both old names that aren't overused. I would say that Luke, Liam, George, Charles and Michael are used far more often. The biggest problem with common names are the mix-ups that happen at school. So I would stick to a classic name that isn't so overused, and perhaps keep the husband happy by having Harrison as the middle name.

Here are some names that might work:

I am not sure why but Ryan automatically came to mind.

Jack, Andrew, Ryan - all very boy, well known, not overused

Two more:

Jack, Andrew, James
Jack, Andrew, Nicholas

I love Ryan! I'm not sure why I haven't thought about it but it does flow well with Jack and Amdrew. Hubby says he doesn't hate it! Thank you and any other ideas are welcome.

Jack Ryan is the hero of Tom Clancy's many books (Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, etc.)--perhaps that is why Ryan springs to mind?

Great suggestions! Byron has me thinking...

Please keep them coming!

Where do you live that Jack and Henry are used less than George or Michael?

Perhaps you can use Hartley for the middle name?

I like the nickname Harry, but would avoid Harrison/Harry because of their association with Henry (Harry is a traditional nickname for Henry).

I like Luke, but it doesn't seem quite right with Jack and Andrew/Drew.

Liam is very popular, but I do like it.  I think I might lean towards William with Liam as the nickname.

I have a George so I may be a bit biased, but it is a great name.  It fits well with Jack I think, but seems not quite right (too fusty perhaps?) next to Andrew/Drew.

Charles is my favorite from your list.  Charles Hartley with the nickname Charlie?

Michael is OK, but feels a bit more like a "dad" name and less vintage than some of your other options.  Perhaps I just knew too many Michael/Mike's growing up!

I do really like the suggestion of Ryan.  I'll suggest Leo, Miles, Samuel/Sam, Nathaniel/Nate,

Hubby and I have tentatively agreed on Ryan Hartley. We are "trying it out" amongst ourselves before we tell anyone else. Thanks so much for all the suggestions and ideas!

So happy you are trying it out! That is a great name :)

Paul came to my mind with your names Jack, Andrew, and Paul.

I like Charles with the nn Charlie.  Charlie seems like a happy, great guy like Jack and Charles is classic like Andrew.

Michael seems boring to me but we have several in my family. I never cared for George and prefer Liam.

Here's a few I think you might suit your taste...

Athony, Samuel, Connor, Collin, Evan, Levi

I like Charlie with Jack and Andrew. George and Samuel nn Sam are also good. how about Leo?

I have a J@ck and a H@nry.

It sounds like you have settled (Yay!), but if you need other suggestions, my imaginary third would likely be named Thomas.

Other contendors have included Charlie and Samuel (Love Sam for you), and H. was quite nearly Owen.

I love Charles nn Charlie with Jack and Andrew. Instead of Luke, how about Lucas? Michael is a great name, or you could use Micah. Liam's a great name but SUPER popular. I'm not a fan of George with your other names. Other suggestions include:

Nicholas, Anthony, Marcus, Hudson, Martin, Cody, Jacob, Joshua, Max, Adam, Samuel, Arthur, Malcolm, Christopher, Brian, Justin, Noah, Steven, Ryan, Alex, Eric, Landon, Matthew, Nolan, Jeremy, Dashiell (nn Dash), Holden, Connor, Gabriel, Owen, Oliver, Declan, Hayden, Thomas or Shane

I LOVE Jack, Andrew and Charlie!

Good luck and happy naming :)

We have similar taste as we are expecting a boy and our short list is Jack, Luke, Liam, Ryan and Owen. I think any of these go well with your other boys' names, in my opinion Luke doesn't go quite so well with Jack though but Ryan is a great choice, Liam and Owen also go with Jack and Andrew/Drew.
