Totally stumped for a boy
Our boy is coming in July but we are completely at a loss for what to name him. My husband and I both like classic/vintage/retro names but we just can’t seem to find one that works. We don’t want something too popular. Our daughter is named Eloise
We are more than likely doing a double middle name of David Lee to honor both grandfathers. (Husband doesn’t really love David. I would have been fine to use that as the first name but he agreed to the double middle.) Our last name is 2 syllables starting with K.
He likes George but I’m not really sold on it. It has the right feel but also seems kind of blah to me sometimes. What do you think? Any other suggestions?

George is in my opinion an older name but not quite classic.
Archer is an old one but less common
Good luck! Names are hard....
For some reason when I read your post the name August/Gus came immediately to mind. I agree with you about George and your husband about David; they are both good, solid classic names but both just a little too bland for my taste.
Other ideas: Hugh/Hugo (Hugo is far more popular but still below the top 300), Rupert, Benedict, Eric/Erik
I love Eloise!
Lionel
Hmm...how about Mathias (Matias, Mattias) or Theodore (Theo for short!)? Or maybe Leo?
Lincoln Matthew
I agree with you about George. To me, it has always been very blah. I also think you should definitely be sold on whatever name you choose, so I would say take that off your list if it really isn't the one for you! The Name Matchmaker tool suggests that you may like some of these if you like Eloise for a girl:
Foster
Harris
Wallace
Murphy
Conrad
George is definitely classic, but with David Lee in the middle the whole name does sound a little... dissapointing perhaps? Especially with sister Eloise. But with a taste in vintage/retro there should be plenty of options with flair.
Searches for vintage and retro names for boys included-
Calvin (one of my personal faves)
Rupert
Humphrey
Tobias
Felix
Abel
Atticus
Byron
Linus (my husband thinks I'm crazy for liking this one, but I do)
Ernest (I am fond of this one too)
Walter
Just some ideas for inspiration :)
