WDYT of These names?
I am thinking about the names Wren or Norah for a girl. I would love to hear thoughts or opinions. Our daughter's name is Sloane. Thanks!

With Sloane, I think I may like Wren better. Both seem a little more modern to me, but without being "trendy" while Norah has more of a vintage revival feel. If you are interested in other suggestions, I'll offer Blythe, Brynn, Keely, Greer and Avery.
I love both Wren and Norah but to go with Sloane definitely Wren. Norah does seem a totally different style to Sloane.
I also thought of Greer/Grier, Avery, Harper, London, Peyton, Harlow and Briar as potential matches.
I agree that Norah doesn't seem right as a sister to Sloane. It's too traditional and kind of fades next to such a stoundout. I definitely like Wren better, but joined with Sloane, since they're both 1 syl. ending in the -N sound, I almost feel like they're competing against each other, and both lose out.
I want to cosign on Blythe, Greer, and Briar, while adding Lark, Paige, Faye, Aster, and Maeve.
I quite love both names.
I'm a bit bothered by the Sound of Sloane and Wren together.
Have you tried shouting them out the back door? For me, they seem to moosh together a bit.
I agree that they're a great match style wise.
I do think Norah works, though.
It's definitely an antique revival name, but it's recently popular so I think it has a modern feel that makes it work.
Could I interest you in Eden? I like the idea of a name that's short and modern but a little more feminine.
Thank you for all the suggestions. My husband is the hard one to find even one name he will consider. I personally love whimsical, pretty names, but no chance for him to consider those styles. I do agree with several posts that Wren blends with Sloane. I appreciate all the suggestions. The ones that I liked were Brynn, Eden and Paige, but my husband did not. I realize he will have to compromise if we end up having a girl.
What are your thoughts on Haddon, Blair, Maren, Sage or Morgan with the name Sloane?
I like Sloane with Blair and Morgan, they all have a preppy feel and work well together. Haddon seems too boy to me. Maren is just NMS-I really just hear "mare". Sage is a name I really like, but I have mixed feelings about it with Sloane. Sloane comes across as maybe a little too serious next to Sage. And would you feel restricted to one syllable, S names for possible future kids? That seems like it might be a hard theme to work with.
Of those, Blair and Maren are far and away my favorites with Sloane. Haddon I've never heard of, so I'm not really sure, though it reminds me of Hadley, Haydon, and Harriet nn Hattie, although the first thing that came to mind was the Hadron Collider, but that's my nerdiness emerging. Sage has the problem of being too much like Sloane for me, though I do like it, and Morgan always reminds me of horse books from fourth grade.
Could you tell us Sloane's middle name? That may help our suggestions. And are there any names your husband does like?
I think Blair, Maren, and Morgan are all pretty great with Sloane. I'm not familiar with Haddon as a first name, so if I guessed I'd assume it was masculine. I think Sage could be a nice match for Sloane, only I'd hesitate to use two S names in a row, and the only Sage I've known was a man, so it skews slightly masculine to me.
My favorite from your list is probably Maren, because I think it's stylish and interesting, and it's the only one that's clearly feminine. But Blair and Morgan are both smart and attractive, too, so I'd put them tied in a close second place.
I agree with most of the other comments. Blair and Morgan work the best for me with Sloane. Haddon sound too similar to Hayden and very boyish. How about Hadley though? It isn't all that girly but I think girl more than boy with Hadley.
I like Maren and think it could work well. Sage I adore but it just sounds wrong with Sloane (to me) and it is a lone syllable S name as pointed out above which might become themey.
Your responses are great! Sloane's middle name is Frances (family name). I hope to use Eleanor (another family name) if we have a girl. I think Hadley is adorable, but I recently had a cousin use that name. The only name my husband has suggested that he likes is Zoe. He thinks it has "spunk and character". Since typing my last response, he has vetoed Blair. He says Morgan is "ok" and does not like Maren. My daughter and I like Maren...so I hold onto it (with hope) because at one time he liked the name Maris and said it was the "best on the list". Of course now he doesn't like Maris.
Thanks for all the ideas!
At the risk of being too obvious, how about Carys or Kerris?
I also once knew a girl called Merit, though she may have spelled it differently.
Other surname/first names that might interest you: Ellery, Carrick, Madigan, Linden, Bronte...
Sloane has a real, "Prep school," quality for me, which makes me think of classy, preppy names like Lauren or Brooke or Bronwyn.
There is sort of a glam/cool quality to Sloane as well, so you might consider something like Stella or Zara or Lola. I'd suggest Ava if it wasn't so out of the park popular.
I do love the suggestion of Hadley, so maybe you can get hubby to come around on that one! I'm not a huge fan of Maren, but I do think your dh is on to something with Zoey!
Or what about Meryl? It's a sound-alike to your husband's former fave and it has such a wonderful (imo) association with Meryl Streep.
Thanks for all your responses. I found out today that it's a boy...so no need to ponder girl names! :)
