My husband's name is Anson (so I may be biased toward it) I am actually quite surprised that it hasn't risen in the ranks as it has many features of the current trendy names: it's an A name, and a -son ending name. I think it would be a good choice if you wanted to follow those sounds/trends but still have something unique and classic. A problem with the name: He's always mistaken for Anton, Anthon, Anthony, or Hanson. If you can get past that it's a great name.
