Personal experiences with the name Baylen: | Edit

My son will be 13 this year. I liked the name Bailey because of Party of Five. However, I didn't want to name him that. I started playing around with name endings and thought I "invented" Baylen. Guess not. Two years ago I went to Pensacola, FL for work. There is a street named Baylen as well. It runs north and south.

My husband and I named our son, Baylen Michael. We originally were interested in the English spelling, Balin, but didn't like the spelling so we changed it to the French spelling Baylen. We wanted to make sure people pronounced it corrrectly. Sir Balin was legend to be King Arthur's most courageous knights. I love that it's a unique name, but yet still sounds like a traditional name.

Meanings and history of the name Baylen: | Edit

We named our son Baylen. We saw the name Bailin in a baby name book while standing in a check out line. We liked how it sounded, but not the spelling, so we changed it to Baylen. Thought we were original. We picked the name during the first month of pregnancy. My mom, grandma, aunts, friends, cousins all spent the entire pregnancy trying to convince us to change the name. It was disheartening and sad...a baby name means so much to the new parents.

I'm glad we didn't change the name of our first born son. He is now 10 and his name is Baylen Clayton. I think it's important at this point to mention that we just had our fourth child a few weeks ago, and to mention the names of Baylen's siblings.

He has a 9 year old sister named Madeline Rose. When we named her, we thought the name was unique. We wanted a name for our girl that conveyed strength and femininity. Since we've named her, we've discovered that the name is quite popular :(

Baylen and Madeline have a 6 year old brother named Bennett Alfred James (middle names after both grandpas)

Baylen, Madeline, and Bennett have a newborn brother named Baxter Lewis.

We love our kids' names and more importantly, our kids say that they love their names. :D
