A likely reason for this Biblical name's popularity is that it is spelled the same in Czech, Dutch, English, French, German, Hungarian, Slovak, and Spanish.
Benjamin is traditional and classic. The three galloping syllables are impressive in its full version and the nn "ben" is adorable for a boy. Of the highly traditional names (Andrew, William, James, etc) its a bit quirky and intellectual. Goes well with a wide range of surnames. A lovely name to grow into and enjoy.
Good, solid, thoroughly masculine name that suits a grown man as well as a little boy.

We have four sons. Our Benjamin is number 2 or 4 sons. We gave all our boys biblical names. His siblings are: Ethan, Lucas, and Roman.
The only thing I do not like is when they try to call him Benji. His nick name is Benny or Ben, but he likes to spell out his entire name at school. But he is Benny to me. :)
I love the name. Strong and Masculine, and Classic.
