Although this is traditionally a boy's name, in recent years it has become a unisex name with more girls being named Kaylen. If you're wanting a strong male name which sounds similar, I would go with Galen instead since it is only a boy's name. An ancient physician, Galen of Pergamon, contributed much to the scientific disciplines of anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and neurology.
