Cannon is considered a preppy name by most. However, it is gaining popularity in the United States. It peaked in 2008 when it ranked 631. Might become more popular and turn into a next 'Hunter'.

well it's been pretty weird for me growing up with my "Unique" name. I always wondered why my father named me Cannon, because I have three older sisters with normal names which are Susan, Cindy, and Jennifer. I hated it when i was young because kids would tease and make fun of me and being a Korean American didn't quite help either, but as I got older, the teases became complements. Because in a way, its a one of a kind name, and I guess I have to thank my father for naming me Cannon. Even though I still have yet to meet someone with the same name as mine, I would love to meet a person with the same name in the future. I love my name and if you're a parent, I recommend that Cannon is a very good name to give your son.
