Though I have not heard of this name until now, I must say I adore it. Not only does it sound really masculine with the "Cash" in it (i.e. Johnny Cash), but with the "-el" added, it sounds so much softer. Will definitely be considering this name for my child.

Personal experiences with the name Cashel: | Edit

I have the same name. Quite different in spelling, though. My name's spelled Cashele. I would agree that there's a need to say the name twice coz some have difficulty getting it the first time. ^^ So, most of the time I just ask my friends to call me Cash instead. But, it's so lovely when they call me Cashele. Most people say it's a nice and unique name. I'm grateful when they say that. ^^ Oh, and I'm a girl.

We chose this name for our son, and generally get good responses. We do need to repeat it, usually, and people who read it sometimes try to pronounce it "cash EL", but overall we love it. When he gets older he can go by Cash, if he chooses, or even just his middle name if he doesn't want to be different at all.
