Be prepared for minor misspellings (usually just leaving the "h" off the end), "North or South" jokes, and the occasional gender misidentification on paperwork. Also, if you're from Texas, be prepared for the name to sound similar to "decoder" due to accent (especially in East Texas).
- Personal experiences with the name Dakotah: | Edit
As a 26-year-old, I was named Dakotah long before it became trendy. It was known then as a mostly male name, and there were some gender mix-ups for most of my life, mostly on letters and such. I have never been teased, but I have been told that, with my middle name, I have a perfect country music name: Dakotah Dawn. Personally, I love my name. It's strong, but not in a masculine way, and doesn't sound flighty like some names that have become popular.
- Nicknames for Dakotah: | Edit
Kody, Kadotah, Daka, Decoder (just for fun), Kota (my favorite and the one I go by)
