Our 11 year old son is named Dustin. We liked the sound of it, and that it was not an overly used common name. He's smart, funny, outgoing. He's helped to bring other kids out of their "shell" in school. His name nickname is Dus, though his true nickname is Bug. He's known other Dustin's, though not too many. He commonly gets called Justin, and recently Devon. He is quick to correct the mistake. He's proud of his name.

I went to school with a boy named Dustin, but he always went by his middle name.

My husband's name is Dustin. Everyone always thinks his name is Justin. He doesn't correct them but I always do! He doesn't have any nicknames but I've gotten to calling him Dus. I don't think he likes it.

My name is Dustin. One Catholic nun ruined the nickname "Dusty" for me, but the name has otherwise been solid.

My husband's name is Dustin but everyone calls him Dusty. He doesn't like his name and doesn't think "Dusty" suits him. Just like the other husband people always think his name is Justin but he doesn't correct them. Also, like the person with the friend named Dustin, my hubby always does the right thing, people love him and you could not find a better man. He's only 30 and he's been that way for a very long time. He is a gift.:)
