Comments and insights on the name Ean: | Edit

My husband and I could not agree on a name for our second son. He eventually came up with Ian, and I was skeptical. People are idiots, and I could see him being called "EYE-an" for the rest of his life. Our eldest son's name is Tristan, which is Welsh (I am half-Welsh by heritage). So when we were skimming the baby name book, we were surprised to find the alternate spelling of Ian as E-A-N, and even more surprised to find that it is the Gaelic/Manx version (my husband is half-Irish by heritage). That settled it for us! And NO ONE has ever mispronounced his name - an added bonus :)
