Architect Eliel Saarinen (1873-1950), Finnish born architect who became famous by designing the Finnish Pavillion at the World fair in 1900 together with Gesellius and Lindgren. He made a career in the US after moving there in 1923. He is the father of the furniture designer Eero Saarinen.
