Gage

Pronunciation: GAYJ (key)

Commentary on the name Gage:

Like Stone or Chance, this is a name that doesn't quite sound real. It belongs to an impossibly virile hero trapped in the pages of a romance novel. But this style of name is coming on strong, and Gage is a particularly likeable example. Oddly, its popularity dates to a not so virile or likable movie character -- an undead boy in Pet Sematary.

Personal experiences with the name Gage: | Edit

One of our twins is named Gage. When I was pregnant I read 2 different novels with a main hero named Gage and I fell in love with it. Not a mainstream popular name but also not "way out there" like alot of unique names. A friend of mine from France said "gage" in french is "a dare" or "a risk", but the baby name websites said "a pledge or a promise". I'm assuming the french chick with the practical application of the word is a more trustworthy source. I get alot of positive feedback from people when they hear his name. It's seems to be well-liked...
