This is not a name from Norse mythology. The citations are from legendary Scandinavian history.

Gunnar is traditionally pronounced (using the key of this site) gən-ahr, not guh-ner, with the first syllable closer to goon than to gun. I'd also like to fully agree with, and add to, the above comment. The Gunnar mentioned in the description is a character from the Völsunga saga.

In 2007, Gunnar was the 4th most common name amongst Icelandic males and the 20th most common amongst Icelandic males aged 4 or under.
