Transferred use of the surname, which may be of several different origins. Howard is my family/maiden name. I would definitely consider it as a name for a son. I have always thought it a really strong name. I think it is set for a revival in popularity as the world becomes over populated with little Henrys. (Howard seems to me to be in the same class as "Henry" and yet not so overused.) Must say I'm too keen on the nickname "Howie", though. Don't think this name "needs" a nickname.
- Personal experiences with the name Howard: | Edit
My son, Howie, is named after his father and grandfather. His father had met Howie Long when he was young, it is an exciting event to meet someone famous with such an uncommon name. It is a story to remember and to carry on.
