immodestly speaking of course i love my christian name of hugh which my father gave me at baptism and which i in turn gave my son so that it continues to thrive in our family for more than a century in this country and most likely for many years previously in ireland from whence the family came in 1890. the name itself is quite unique or singular which suits me fine as i feel pleased to consider myself very much one of a kind.

Personal experiences with the name Hugh: | Edit

My son's name is Hugh. When people ask his name, they inevitably give me a pleasantly surprised look. Some have said his name makes him even cuter, while others say the only other Hugh they know is 80 years old. The meaning of Hugh is "bright in mind and spirit," which fits my son to a T. I love his name!
