My husband wanted our son to be named after him and his father - Kenneth Charles III. We did not like Ken, or Kenny, Charles, Chuck or any variations of the name. We also didn't like the Trey, Tre, Trip, etc. The logical choice would be initals... and call him KC (or C/Kasey). The problem is we have a niece named Kasey and didn't want the confusion, so we just shortened Kasey to Kase (pronounced "case"). We then changed the S to a C to keep with Charles. So KC became Kace.
