Well, Merritt is my name. I have no complaints. In fact I get frequent comments on it. I was named after my Great Grand Father. It is an old name and a unisex name. Although I feel it is better for a male (my own personal biases). I have met a few other Merritts in my life. The spelling ranges from just one "r" or "t" to being spelled with an "a". I am proud to be a Merritt and think if you are looking for a strong/different name...then maybe this is the one for your little bundle of joy.
