Right? How is it a new name? That's like saying Noah is a new name. It is a VERY old name.

Osiris is equivalant to the Christian's Saint Peter. He was the one you saw to find out if you were going to heaven/hell

My youngest son's name is Osiris.

NASA: O.S.I.R.I.S, name of the camera on the Rosetta space shuttle. Osiris is the name of a space shuttle set to take off in 2011. It is also the name of an extra solor planet in the constellation pegasus.

Osiris is the name of a cardiac-stem cell facility. I wonder if the god of rebirth had any influence on the name choice
