Dang "Stanley" already wasn't the best name before Three's Company came out. A nagging housewife saying your name every week was terrible. Friends of mine would also like to quote the Stanley hardware slogan..."We want to help you do things, right." Stan is better, less nerdy. Like someone's buddy, instead of the name of a college science professor. Stan Getz music still sounds good today. Stan Lee is world reknown. Many folks can't help but say "Stan the Man"
