I love the name Tarzan. In the book, "Tarzan, of the Apes" the name means "White Skin/White Skinned" but to me it means, love, peace, honesty, strength, a hunger to learn, fearlessness, curiosity and it could possibly means to be a leader.

Meanings and history of the name Tarzan: | Edit

From what I have read in "Tarzan of the Apes" by Edgar Rice Boroughs, the name Tarzan means "White Skin" I really love the name Tarzan because I grew up with it. Since I was a litle girl, I knew and loved the movie Tarzan. Now, as I am a teenager, I am reading the book quite rapidly, as I most enjoy the spirit -of Tarzan- that Edgar Boroughs has captured. There have been rumors that Tarzan was a real, living person; as real as I sit here today! But, rumors will be just that--hearsay. I quite believe that he was real. There is no doubt in my mind that Tarzan was real. He is real to me. You may look up what you must to convince your apprehensions, but I -as you already know- believe what has been so artfully written by Edgar Boroughs. So, I may only hope that some smart, caring woman will name her child this name--Tarzan, because it shows character, skill, bravery, reason, fearlessness, a hunger to learn,peace, love, strength and honesty.
