Comments and insights on the name Turner: | Edit

My impression of this name is that it's trying entirely too hard. It just sounds pretentious, and silly. It's overly trendy and too forced and well, a little nerdy. It's not at all masculine. Perhaps more fitting as a MN or as a name for a girl.

Personal experiences with the name Turner: | Edit

I have met more girls than boys with the name Turner. It is becoming quite a popular choice as a girl name in our area. (I am a school teacher so I see a lot of children) Because of this the name just may be more suitable for a girl. It is definitely a unisex name.

I def. agree its becoming popular for both sexes. Not my fav though. It seems like people are getting too creative while trying to find the "new" surname as a first name! While many surnames make entirely suitable names the whole "ER" ending is getting very played out.

We have a a lovely dog named Turner. We call him Turn for the most part, which is fun for a dog-child.
