I gave my second daughter this name because I loved the way it sounded, the meaning, the way it sounded feminine yet strong. It's also a name from my husband's mother's family (several generations back) and the name of a beloved friend's grandmother. We chose to spell it "Adeleine" as we wanted it to seem a bit fuller or less spare next to our other daughter's name, Penelope.
