I was named for a misprint of my grandmother's name Delia. I was called Dee, but in the city where I started school I was not allowed to go by Dee but had to go by Adelia. I was constantly teased for it and have always hated my name. My daughter loves my name and neamed her younger daughter after me. We call her D-d, but in 2nd grade her best friend declared that she loved her full given name so she has gone by Adelia at school ever since. She is now in 7th grade.
