Comments and insights on the name Aja: | Edit

Aja, pronounced Asia seemed to me to be a very beautiful name. I am not sure of the origin but it seemed to be very rare but very beautiful. I only met one person with the name and she was hugely confident and alive. The name falls into the category of other island names like Capri or Fuji. I simply like the name.

Personal experiences with the name Aja: | Edit

Aja or Ajah (both have the same pronunciation)is a very beautiful name prior to giving birth to my daughter in 1998 I only knew one little girl named Aja, and because of her intelligence, and beauty I decided to name my daughter after her. I spell my daughters name Ajah. I find the same qualities in my daughter as I did in Aja. Ajah is a very beautiful little girl and very mannerable, intelligent, and highly spoken of wherever she goes. She always ranks in the top 5 academically and to this day maintains a 4.0 GPA. Ajah is truly beautiful inside and out with long black hair and beautiful caramel skin. We are often asked is she of Asian decent because of her features. She is truly beautiful.

My name is Aja-pronounced Asia-and I love my name. My mom wanted a unique name for me and loved the name Asia. She wanted to make the spelling unique and got the spelling from the Steely Dan album Aja. I like that my name is still unique 24 years later.

I have found several different origins for the history of the name Aja or Ajah. I have seen it being originating from the Old Testament Genesis and the Chronicles. I have seen it having been found to be of African and Indian origin. The meaning differs from strong willed, stubborn, unconquerable, to drive or propel meaning to lead and the meaning that will come up often is goat (Hindu). I am not sure what a goat signifies, but this is the knowledge that I have gained on the name Ajah.
