This is my daughter's name...but I spelled it Alayna. I agree with Alaina's comments below... My daughter always is told what a beautiful name she has and the cons are correct too, people call her all sorts of variations and spell it many ways! But it is a beautiful name!!! Her nick name is Ally or Laney

My first name is Alaina (born in 1982).

pros: I have received many comments over the years about what a beautiful name it is. It is a more unusual name that you don't hear everyday. It was a good fit with my maiden name, and it flows well with my married name. I don't think there are many last names it wouldn't go with.

cons: It is regularly mispronounced, even though to me it is pretty straight forward. It is most commonly mispronounced E-laina, A-lina, Ali-ana, A-lana. Don't even get me started on how people spell it when they are writing it, I get the whole gamut of misspellings (it is a running joke in my office).
