Comments and insights on the name Alexia: | Edit

My name is Alexia and I got called dyslexia alexia, anorexia alexia, and sexy lexy! It was all in good fun, though, and I LOVED that I was the only person in my entire school with that name.

The Random House Dictionary defines alexia as "a neurologic disorder marked by loss of the ability to understand written or printed language, usually resulting from a brain lesion or a congenital defect." Though the word is Greek in origin, Alexia is still used as a girls' name in Greek (go figure).

Personal experiences with the name Alexia: | Edit

My 5 year old daughter is named Alexia Larae. We call her Lexi or Lex for short. She recently tested positive for dyslexia. Now everyone calls her Dyslexic Alexia. Not so funny. :( My poor child lol.
