- Personal experiences with the name Amber: | Edit
My first name is Amber and middle name is Leigh. I always wished my parents made my first name Amberleigh or Amberly, so I could have something a little different from the other Ambers. Other than that, I've loved my name. No one misspells or mispronounces it. I have a trillion nicknames, but none are offensive. I've always been middle-high class and intelligent, so no one has ever teased me that my name connotes anything different than that-- though maybe it's different for people growing up now with the name Amber (as I am 29). I think it's a fun name that was cute as a kid and works well as a professional too.
my parents chose the name amber before i was born, not only do i have a beautiful name but my hair is the exact same color of amber love it!
My name is Amber, and I've always loved my name. Some people have negative perceptions of the name, but that's likely because of an experience they've had with someone with that name. Every name has that problem.
My best friend is an Amber - she is the sweetest and most loyal person I have ever had the privilege of knowing.
My name is Amber, and I've often felt embarrassed of my name when meeting people for the first time because the name isn't typical of smart women.
My daughters name is Amber and she is VERY intelligent. I think it is a beautiful name and the perception of it is different than it use to be. Every Amber that I have met has been kind!
My name is Amber and I absolutely LOVE it! It is so unique and pretty! I love the color too! It TOTALLY fits me!
I used to dislike the name Amber, because it didn't lend itself easily to nicknames. I was called 'Amberger (which I Hated) and occasionally Ambrosia (which I Loved), but Ambrosia is actually longer than Amber and therefore not much of a nickname. I tried Amy for a while, but assumed that it was dishonest because I believed it could only be short for Amanda. I even read online that Amber was a name you should give your child if you don't want her to have nicknames! But now that I know better from reading on here, I might be comfortable telling people to call me Amy! Thank you!
My sister name is Amber and as a kid I use to call her hambopper
