My name is Annelise and I absolutely love having it. It is a name that is unique yet made from two more familiar names. I find it empowering to have a name that not everyone has. The only problems I have with it are constant misspellings.

She thought herself incapable of having children until husband Zechariah was visited by the angel Gabriel, who told him his wife would have a son who "will be great in the sight of the Lord!" And so son, John the Baptist, was born. John the Baptist was cousin to Jesus Christ.
