I am 46 years old and STILL get..."Oh, Annette Funicello!" Of course those comments come from the 50+ crowd, who still remember her. I must say, I've been acquainted with a fair number of Annettes (first name) and, based on their ages, ALL our parents were fans of the Mickey Mouse club. However, most people I've met have this as their middle name. (Strangely enough, my parents couldn't think of a middle name for me!)

Personal experiences with the name Annette: | Edit

As a child growing up I never liked the name Annette, I was always teased about anything to do with "nets" but as I got older my feeling towards it changed and I think it helped me become who I am now. I think it was also to do with the fact that it was not until I was 13 that I ever met anyone else with the name and even then I have only met about6 other Annette's since then (11 years), Including my Mother-in-Law.
