I like this name, but I prefer the other form of the name; "Annick."

Personal experiences with the name Annika: | Edit

Very strong name. Creates impression of strength and has luxury of being shortened to Anna, Onnegative side name often not understood on first recite or pronoounced as Anuhkuh instead of ahnahkuh...very known name in Europe but raises eyebrows here..glad I named my last daughter this name though...it is so her!

We named our youngest daughter Annika after the name we first decided on, Abigail, started showing up all over the place. Annika loves her name, but we do have a problem with mispronunciation. It's ANN-ik- ah, not AHN-ik-ah or Ah-NEEK-ah

This is my name and I like it quite a lot. It is pronounced AHN-ik-ah, and people constantly get that wrong. Personally I prefer my pronunciation over the other two. I really recommend this name though if you are considering it, it's lovely and unique without being too out there.
