Comments and insights on the name Audra: | Edit

I love my name, the fact that it is not very common, and I like the reaction I get from people when introducing myself. Most of the time people ask me if I was named after Audra Barkley on Big Valley but my mom simply found it in a baby name book and liked it! In the past 3-4 yrs I've come across more Audra's and funny enough they are usually around my age(25-30).

If you do a search for the name you'll find there is a Goth Band named Audra, there is a dress from White House Black Market called "The Audra", and at one time in the late 90's I owned a pair of slacks from the Limited and they were called the "Audra" fit.

Personal experiences with the name Audra: | Edit

I knew an Audra in middle school and have always thought it particularly lovely. It has the soft "Au" of Audrey without the "ee" ending, and seems soft and feminine where Audrey can be angular.

Nicknames for Audra: | Edit

My family always called me Audi(pronounced Oddy) and when being silly they called me Audrika or Audrina.
My friends would all me Aud or Auj(Audge).

My name is Audra, and I never used to like it because of its rareness. I was named after my great grandma Audrey, she passed away just a year ago. And as I got to know her better I realized that my name is really special and beautiful. Now i love my name and am happy to pass it on because of my great grandma. Rest in Peace Audrey:)
I am not aware of any songs that contain my name but I know there was audra mcdonald a singer, and audra from big valley.
