My name is Aven and I love having a name that is not ordinary. Yes I got called Avon alot still do but who doesn't get called other names. There isn't a great story on my name. My aunt liked the name and was going to name her daughter Aven but she never had a girl so my mom used the name for me. My cousin wrote the fictional book "Here There Be Dragons" and named the heroine after my name. We both have red hair. I love my Name!

Aven was the name of my custodian in elementary school, she's probably in her 50's now. I think it's adorable though regardless. You should really consider it.

Aven can also mean "mountain flower". Aven is a type of wildflower in the Rose Family. It can have white, yellow or reddish flowers.

Actor Matthew Settle (from TV series Gossip Girl) and his wife Naama Nativ had a daughter named Aven Angelica on March 5, 2009.

Matthew says, "Angelica because she’s angelic. Aven means mountain flower. We liked it — it was unique and we hadn’t heard it before. We were on a road trip, coming back from seeing my parents in Tennessee. We stopped at a hotel and were looking online under ‘A’ to find something to go with Angelica. It’s an English name. Naama immediately heard it and said, “That’s it.”
