Personal experiences with the name Bettie: | Edit: My grandmother thought it would be fun to have a "movie star" in the family and talked my Mother into nameing me Bettie Davis after the famous star. My name was originally supposed to be spelled Bette; however, someone in the birth certificate department added the "i" as that was a popular spelling in that part of the country at that time. In high school I dated a boy named Phil Harris. We had some fun with that.
