Comments and insights on the name Camille: | Edit

People tend to spell Camille wrong, especially kids. For example, I've had my named spelled: Cammile, Camile, Cammille, and once, in kindergarten, the teacher's aid (this lady was in college, mind you!) spelled it Camel on one of my art projects. (No joke!)
Also, I've had it pronounced various ways: "Kah-mee" (that's the French pronunciation), "Kah-meel," "Kuh-meel," and "Kuh-mill" (that one annoyed me the most.)

Personal experiences with the name Camille: | Edit

I've only ever met Camille's who pronounce their name "Kah-mee". I think this is the French pronunciation. Is "Kah-meel" the American pronunciation?

"Kah-meel" is the way the name is usually pronounced in English speaking countries, NOT just in the United states.

I personally love it pronounced "Kuh-meel" sounds so pretty! Like a flower! It reminds me of the color yellow somehow...
