My name is Diane and my nick name is Dee Dee. I used Dee Dee until I grew up..Then Diane seemed more appropriate..I love my name.
The spelling with two n's (Dianne) makes more sense, pronunciation-wise.

My sister-in-law is named Diane but spelled Diahann after Diahann Carroll because her father had a crush on Diahann Carroll at the time.
My mum is called Diane, though she prefers lady Di :) she always has people spell in Dianne, which really annoys her, and dad is gary, and gets it spelt Garry, i am valerie and get it spelt Valary, Valery... and my sister is Ione and gets it spelt Ionee, Ionie and Iony. wow, we have a lot of variations to our names!!
