My then spouse and I had decided to include his name (Ed) in all of the children's names. We had two sons but had a dilemma when we found out we were having a girl. I did not like Edwina or Edna. I had found the meaning for Adrienne (dark, rich one and pronounced the same) by chance and thought it would be fitting. So I put a little bit of a French spin on the E and came up with Edrienne. She's 7 now and loves her name.
