In Greek Mythology Eirene (or Irene) was the daughter of Zeus and Themis and one of 3 Horai: Goddesses of the seasons and the keepers of the gates of heaven. Eirene was goddess of peace (eirênê) and of the season of spring (eiar, eiarinos). Her sisters were Eunomia (Order or Good-Pasture) and Dike (Justice).
In Roman Mythology Eirene was known by the name of Pax.
