Developed by my mother as a combination of my father's and grandmother's names: George and Ellen. She joined the names together and removed one of the E's in the middle. She pronounced the name as with the accent on the middle syllable. I have heard of two other people with this name, but have never met them so I do not know how their names was chosen.

Personal experiences with the name Georgellen: | Edit

I must always spell my name at least twice and usually end up writing it down to show to people. When I lived in Hawaii, it was continually mispronounced as with the accent on the first syllable. My mother said people with interesting names grow up to be interesting people. I love my name and appreciate it much more than the second choice which was Heather. I am not a Heather. I am definitely a Georgellen.
