Personal experiences with the name Ginger: | Edit

My name is Ginger. It is not short for anything. My mom has always said she chose it because I was born with bright red hair, and because there were already 4 babies named "Jennifer" in the church nursery at the time:). My middle name is Renee. As a child I did not like my name, and often pretended my middle name was my first. Probably because of the "gingivitis" and "Hey my dog/horse/cat/hamster is named Ginger" comments and in my twenties when my then-boyfriend-now-husband's dad seriously asked him if I was some sort of "dancer" (sorry, the other word is not G rated). But as an adult, I like my name. I don't encounter many others named Ginger, it has always been unique. Although my hair eventually changed to blonde, the name still fits. I would never change it.
