Comments and insights on the name Hadassah: | Edit

My dad wanted to name me Esther, and I have always teased him about that. Recently my mom said, "Well, would you rather we named you Hadassah-the Hebrew equivalent of Esther?" And honestly, I would much rather have been named Hadassah. No offense to any Esthers out there, but I think Hadassah is a much prettier name than Esther (it doesn't sound so old, and you probably won't get mistaken for an Amish person (not that that is a bad thing-it's not!)).
But my name ended up NOT being Esther and being something fairly normal and much more pleasing to the ear, so I'm happy anyway.
