Igraine features in the arthurian legends as the mother of King Arthur. Igraine was seduced by Uther with Merlins help, in the guise of her husband. Igraines husband died that night in battle and King Uther married Igraine. However when Arthur was born, due to Uthers agreement with Merlin, Arthur was taken away and lived with another family. Igraine had an older child, Morgana Le Fay who was to be a great sorceress who nearly destroyed Merlin and Camelot.
