Personal experiences with the name Jean: | Edit

My daughter is named Jean (2009) - it is her maternal Great Grandmother's middle name, and is derived from her 3x Great Grandmother's name, Jennie. Jennie was always known as Jeanie (due to a strong Scots accent!) and it wasn't until my Mum researched the family tree and obtained birth records that we found her actual name.

Jean is my Auntie's name, she always hated it and on her 18th birthday she leagally changed her name to Jay which is what she insisted everybody call her through out her childhood. Her mum is the only one who calls her Jean now, and she hates it.
