Comments and insights on the name Jena: | Edit

My daughter was born in 11/68. My first Name is Kera
I made up the name Jena, so I thought.
Kera becomes Jena by this reasoning: J and K are next to each other in the alphabet.. E is E, N
Take a lower case 'r' and elongate it a little to become an 'n' and A is A. All of a sudden about 5 years later Jena and/or Jenna is everywhere.. What happened?

Personal experiences with the name Jena: | Edit

Although I have been asked why my name is spelt with only one "n" and have also told Jena is a wrong spelling and should be pronounced like Gina, I still think that Jena with one "n" is a better spelling. It is more unique and I think it looks nicer. The double "n", I feel is unnecessary because my name is Jen-a not Jen-na. Even though it is not a popluar spelling, I love it and am proud to have one "n", rather than two. It is a great baby name and if you're worried about giving your child a nickname name in my experience my family are the only people who call my Jen or other nicknames.
