Junia (referred to by modern historians as "Junia Secunda"), a Roman woman who lived in the first century BC.
In Romans 16:7, St. Paul greets Junia (or, less likely, the male Junias) as Jewish Christian, imprisoned for her faith, a long-time Christian, and "outstanding among the apostles." The speculation that she was a woman apostle has made Junia celebrated among Christian feminists. Venerated in Eastern Orthodox Churches, her festival day is May 17.

Starting from the brief reference in Romans 16:7, Micheal E. Giesler has written "Junia: The Fictional Life and Death of an Early Christian," an engaging book for young adults about a faithful Christian martyr.
