I was named Karis 57 years ago. growing up I never met anyone with this name. My mother pronounced it like it is spelled, Karis like Paris just change the P to K. I was told it was of Greek org. and meant "full of grace or graceful"
I am not sure of the Egyptian meaning but I have seen it spelled Kharis. I was told when I was young by a Methodist pastor that it was Biblical but have not ever found where in the Bible it was.
