I've met a number of Kendras and they usually fall into two categories: Young African-American girls (usually under 15) or young white women (usually under 35), who tend to come from very affluent, Yuppie-ish backgrounds.
I disagree. My cousin's name is Kendra and she doesn't fall into either of those catergories. She is a very nice woman in her late twenties and is not the least bit "yuppie-ish".
I'm a Kendra and am not "yuppie-ish" Yes indeed growing up there were very few Kendra's only one that happen to live around the corner. We where both named after are father's (Kenneth) We where first born. Where I live in the Missouri the name is given to predominantly white female. Not much Diversity where I live. That is changing in a good way. I enjoy my name very much and it seems to be coming back in. Only made fun of once and it was "Kindergarten Weenier" my last name rhymed with weenier! ha ha other than that it is what it is. hope this helps.
Kendra is my 7 year old daughters name, she is the youngest of three, the only girl, and was named after my husband. You may have one stereotype half right, because my husband is black. I, however am not black and I chose the name because my husbands name is Kenny.
