My daughter is named Kitiara. We called her Kit as a baby and now call her Kiti since it seems to suit her personality better. Most people, when hearing her name for the first time, say "oh, what a beautiful name! Where did you get it!?" The most common experiance is people mispronouncing or misspelling her name.
